Albuquerque Bilingual Academy, a state-authorized dual-language (Spanish/English) public charter school, accepts application materials (resume, letter of interest, copies of licenses and sample unit plans) on an ongoing basis. We invite qualified applicants to apply for any of the following positions: 

 

Assistant Principal

Level 3-B license issued by NMPED is required.
The following experience is highly desired: providing Spanish instruction in a dual language setting; participating as a member of a school leadership team; offering peer coaching, using the Elevate NM system to observe and evaluate teachers; employing the NM Dash 90 day planning process; planning and facilitating staff development; familiarity with education law; ability to maintain relationships with staff, students, families, and the community; managing state and federal programs; experience managing student information systems and STARS reporting, and; experience with school turnaround. STARS Coordinator 

To assist administration and staff in correctly entering, maintaining, and collecting student data. Submit all reports to the New Mexico Public Education Department required for school funding through the STARS system. Provide student and school data for reports to all departments as well as outside agencies and organizations as requested. Have an excellent working knowledge of the district computer system used to produce required reports, as well as day-to-day skills on the operation and maintenance of this system. FT and PT Spanish Teachers (K-5) 
Must possess or be eligible for a K-8 Elementary License with Bilingual Endorsement. Experience working with diverse populations, planning units, using data to drive instruction, and coordinating and delivering teacher-led intervention is a plus. Preference will be given to teachers with a track record of increasing student achievement.

 

FT and PT Spanish Teachers (6-8)

Must possess or be eligible for a K-8 Elementary License or 5-9 Middle Level License with Bilingual Endorsement as well as other attached endorsements appropriate for assignment (Math, MCNL, Social Studies). Experience working with diverse populations, planning units, using data to drive instruction, and coordinating and delivering teacher-led intervention is a plus. Preference will be given to teachers with a track record of increasing student achievement.


FT and PT English Teachers (K-5)
Must possess or be eligible for a K-8 Elementary License with TESOL Endorsement. Experience working with diverse populations, planning units, focusing on English Language Development, using data to drive instruction, and coordinating and delivering teacher-led intervention is a plus. Preference will be given to teachers with a track record of increasing student achievement.

 

FT and PT English Teachers (6-8)

Must possess or be eligible for a K-8 Elementary License or 5-9 Middle Level License with attached endorsements appropriate for assignment (ELA, Science, ELD). Experience working with diverse populations, planning units, focusing on English Language Development, using data to drive instruction, and coordinating and delivering teacher-led intervention is a plus. Preference will be given to teachers with a track record of increasing student achievement.

 

PT Hourly Gifted Education Teacher

Must possess or be eligible for a NMPED-issued Gifted Education license. Experience with G-IEPs, collaborating with classroom and ancillary staff, and experience with project based learning is required. Preference will be given to bilingual (Spanish/English) candidates. ($20-$40/hour DOE).

 

FT and PT Special Education Teacher

Must possess or be eligible for a NMPED-issued Pre K-12 Special Education license. Knowledge of IDEA-B regulations; experience providing differentiated instruction to SWD in accordance with IEPs; experience facilitating IEP meetings; experience writing IEPs; strong communication skills; experience with data analysis and evaluation; experience facilitating professional development to general education staff; experience working with administration on state-level reporting. 

 

PT (.50) School Nurse

Must possess a valid Pre-K-12 School Nurse license issued by the NMPED. Experience with school-based nursing, including completing and submitting state reports, conducting screenings, developing health plans, managing the school health office, assisting with inventory, coordinating with local health officials, serving as a member of the school health and safety team, coordinating COVID-19 reentry practices, etc. Preference will be given to bilingual (Spanish/English) candidates as well as those with school nursing experience. ($30-$60/hour DOE). 

 

FT and PT Hourly Custodian

Between the hours of 10 am - 2 pm. Maintain cleanliness of school campus (mainly cafeteria); restock restrooms with supplies; inspect campus for hazardous conditions and remedy said conditions; clean cafeteria tables and floors; throw trash after lunch periods have concluded; assist with the moving of books, small furniture, etc. upon request. Must be able to pass an FBI background check, be able to sit and stand, and lift up to 50 lbs. This is a position that requires standing for over 90% of the time. Must be reliable and dependable - punctual with regular attendance. Hourly rate is $10-$15 DOE. 

 

NM Pre-K Teacher

Must hold one of the following NMPED-issued licenses: New Mexico Early Childhood Teacher License: Birth through Third Grade; the New Mexico Early Childhood Teacher License: Age Three through Grade Three; Provide assistance to school's NM PreK program by teaching and creating a flexible program and an environment favorable to learning and professional growth. Preference will be given to applicants with at least five years experience as a teacher in early childhood classrooms or direct service to PreK programs.

 

FT Educational Assistant

Must possess or be eligible for a NMPED-issued Educational Assistant license. Responsibilities include working with individuals and small groups in the classroom to reinforce material introduced by the teacher; collecting, preparing and arranging resource material for use by certified personnel; and maintaining classroom records, preparing reports, scoring tests, processing books and managing supplies and classroom equipment as needed. Preferences include experience with educational equipment, effective communication skills, both verbal and written; flexibility, organization, decision-making and problem solving skills; and interpersonal skills with diverse populations.

 

Daytime Supervision/Childcare Activity Leader 

Hourly, Monday-Friday, PT and FT available. Work calendar follows school calendar. $10-$15/hour depending on experience. Experience facilitating structured learning and enrichment activities for children in grades K-8. Must be able to pass an FBI background check. Must be dependable and reliable. Positions open until filled. 


After School Activity Leaders (Certified and Uncertified)

Experience facilitating activities with students ages 5-15. Knowledge of one or more of the following areas: arts and crafts, dance, athletics (basketball, soccer, football, volleyball, baseball, kickball), technology, chess, and Zumba. Must be able to pass FBI background check. ($10-$22/hour)


Hourly Activity Bus Driver ($18/hour) 

Must have a clean driving record, possess a criminal background check that is no more than two years old or be willing to obtain one, provide a copy of satisfactory completion of a department of transportation (DOT) physical examination, provide verification of the proper license as a school bus driver (issued by the motor vehicle division), and provide a copy of your commercial drivers license examination; vehicle inspection, basic control skills and road test.
